Who else loves to switch on their heater during a cold night and snuggle into a blanket nearby? Heaters are fantastic, especially when you live in a climate that has a particularly harsh winter. There’s no single best heater to use at home as each type of heater has a different purpose.
I’ll list down the more common heater types we use at home. It’s up to you to write a comment and let us know which you like using the most!
Furnace Heater
The furnace is a portion of an HVAC (heat ventilation and air conditioning) system that many homes use. A furnace is capable of heating and cooling your home depending on your needs. It is also one of the best heater types if your goal is to heat the entire house.
The downside to a furnace is energy consumption. While heating your entire house makes everything feel perfect, your wallet may disagree with you. Still, if you can afford to use one, it is a lovely installation for a home.
Radiant Heater
A radiant heater emits electric Ray’s that heat up people and objects directly in front of them. You will often find these in bathrooms as well as hallways and living rooms. Radiant heaters are extremely energy efficient and tend to heat up a room in a uniform fashion.
The downside to a radiant heater is that it can only reach a certain level of energy output. If the temperature is extremely cold outside, it may not be able to heat the entire room. In places with harsh winter, you can counteract this by placing a radiant heater on either side of the room so that they will balance each other out.
Space Heater
A space heater is designed to heat a singular space within a room. It is not powerful enough to heat up an entire room on its own.
There are many types of space heaters for your home. Most of them are designed to be used by one or two people. You can use a space heater to conserve energy by staying in the space that has been heated rather than wasting energy heating a whole room just for yourself.
Baseboard Heater
Baseboard heaters are the most commonly used heaters due to their speed and efficient power consumption. Not only can they heat rooms faster than most heater types, but they can also be cleaned out easily. Simply remove the filter and gently dust it. Be careful not to apply too much pressure as some of the components within the baseboard heater are quite fragile.
These are the most common types of heater used in homes. Which one do you like using the most? Write about it in the comments below!
